Striker Marcus Antonsson has said that he won’t consider his future until the summer, and that he’s focused purely on the last seven games of the season for Blackburn – but a swathe of Leeds fans want him back at Elland Road for next season.

The 26-year-old, who signed for Leeds from Swedish side Kalmar in the summer of 2016 for £2.2million, has spent the season on loan at Blackburn, where he’s scored eight goals in 30 appearances.

His loan move came after he scored just one Championship goals in 16 league appearances for Leeds.

He’s still got a year left to run on his Leeds deal and said in an interview with the Lancashire Telegraph that he’s loving every minute at Blackburn.

He also seemingly dropped in a dig at Leeds when he said: “Playing games in a team that’s winning games most weeks is unbelievable and I’m happy so far.”

He confirmed that he wanted to stay in England when his loan deal finished, with his Leeds future up in the air.

“To play football in England is an honour and for me that’s the place to be as a footballer.

“It’s perfect, the passion from the fans and the quality in the games.

“I love playing in England and hopefully I can do that for many years.”

Leeds fans think that Paul Heckingbottom should take a look at him in the summer, and think there’s goals in the player – and took to Twitter to let the striker know.
