‘Sold this summer’, ‘What do you take us for?’ – Leeds fans react to official player comments
Leeds enforcer Pontus Jansson has said the Leeds fans are “amazing” when Elland Road is rocking – but he won’t be too happy with the replies.
His comments, quoted on the official Leeds Twitter page, are the sort of stuff that would have had the Leeds faithful purring last season – or even at the beginning of this campaign.
But the season has been a disaster, Leeds fans are sick of it, and Jansson hasn’t had the best of campaigns.
That’s led to a shifting in fan opinion and favourite Jansson isn’t immune from it – especially as a lot of fans think he’s going to be sold in the summer.
After Leeds had posted the link to his interview, fans took to Twitter to react to Jansson’s comments.
One fan added to his quote with the words, “I shall miss that next season when I’m in the Premier League”, and another said he would be sold in the summer.
Another reminded fans of his earlier comments about wanting assurances from Leeds about their ambitions for next season, while another said it was just PR soft-soaping to take attention away from the club’s troubles.
