Leeds fans react on Twitter as Kermorgant launches attack ahead of Reading showdown

By Matt Farr

Reading ace Yann Kermorgant has branded Leeds a “one-man team” ahead of their crucial promotion showdown on Saturday – and fans on Twitter are furious.

The 35-year-old appeared to set the ball rolling for a heated affair this weekend by suggesting Championship rivals Leeds were nothing without premier goalscorer Chris Wood.

He said, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Chris Wood has scored nearly all of Leeds’ goals this season. If he gets injured, they have no plan B.”

Wood has been in impressive form for Leeds this season, scoring 24 goals from 36 league appearances, earning his place at the top of the Championship goalscoring charts.

But Kermorgant’s comments have angered Leeds fans, who made their feelings known in no uncertain terms on Twitter.

Wood found the back of the net in the last meeting between the two sides in December, in what was a comfortable victory for Leeds.

Two points currently separate the two sides in the Championship promotion race, with Leeds fourth, and Reading in fifth.
