Leeds fans react on Twitter to Pedraza display against Fulham

By Alex Stevens

Alfonso Pedraza was handed his second start by Leeds in their 1-1 draw against Fulham on Tuesday night – and fans on Twitter were encouraged by his display.

The winger was given an 82-minute runout at Craven Cottage and looked dangerous in a game in which the visitors relied almost exclusively on the counter-attack.

Pedraza, 20, came close to putting Leeds 2-0 up in the second half only for his side-footed finish to cannon back off the post.

Shortly afterwards, he was substituted before Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney secured a share of the spoils with a superb equaliser five minutes into stoppage time.

Nevertheless, Leeds supporters were impressed by the performance of Pedraza and took to social media to give their verdicts.

The Spain Under-21 international has struggled for game time since moving to the Yorkshire giants, starting just one match of the six that he had been available for before the match on Tuesday

He had been an unused substitute for three consecutive matches before getting his chance in the 3-1 league triumph against Birmingham at St Andrews last Friday, in which he scored his first goal for the club.

Leeds remain on course for a place in the play-offs after consolidating their place at fourth in the Championship table with 65 points from 36 matches.

In other Leeds team news, the club are to pounce and re-sign a 23-year-old after a £10million transfer is all but sealed.
