Leeds fans react on Twitter to Pedraza display against Wolves

By Harry Sykes

Alfonso Pedraza was named in the Leeds starting XI for their 1-0 Championship defeat to Wolves on Monday – and fans on Twitter were critical of his display.

The Spanish winger played 72 minutes of the Elland Road encounter before he was replaced by Souleymane Doukara.

It was Pedraza’s seventh start in eight league games as manager Monk continued to demonstrate his faith in the January loan signing from Villarreal.

But Pedraza failed to make much of an impact as Leeds slumped to a damaging defeat that put a major dent in their play-off hopes.

Supporters of the club are aware that Pedraza has scored only one goal – and not supplied a single assist – for Leeds, although some claimed on social media he caused problems against Wolves.

Leeds’ defeat to Wolves leaves them seventh in the Championship, with three matches of the campaign remaining.

The Yorkshire giants are next in action on Saturday when they travel to 19th-placed Burton.

In other Leeds news, they have been strongly tipped to sign an international midfielder who has been a goal machine this season while ripping up the league.
