Kemar Roofe starting in the central of an attacking midfield three for Leeds against Brighton on Friday – and fans on Twitter were disappointed with his performance.

The 23-year-old scored his first goal for the side in the previous 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Fans were looking forward to another good display from the summer signing from Oxford, but he failed to deliver in the 2-0 defeat.

Two penalty goals from Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed ensured the Seagulls all three points and sent Brighton to the top of the league.

Leeds fans were not happy with their team’s performance on social media and singled out Roofe in particular.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Roofe has made 23 appearances for the club since moving from Oxford with a return of just one goal and three assists.

He has so far played below what was expected from him in the summer, but the team as a whole have far exceeded expectations.

The club have remained in fourth place in the league table with the rest of the Championship to play over the weekend.

If results go against Garry Monk’s outfit they could drop to ninth in the table with third-placed Reading to play next in midweek.
