Leeds fans react on Twitter to Sacko display against Brighton

By Alex Stevens

Hadi Sacko retained his place in the Leeds starting XI for their 2-0 Championship win over Brighton – and fans took to Twitter to hail his improved performance.

Eyebrows were raised when the right winger was given the nod for the second consecutive game over the likes of Kemar Roofe, Modou Barrow, Stuart Dallas and Souleymane Doukara.

Sacko has had a difficult few months in which he has struggled to replicate his impressive form of the first half of the season.

But the on-loan wide player was far more effective against Brighton as Leeds produced an all-round display that manager Garry Monk claimed afterwards was “as good as it gets”.

Supporters took to social media to praise Sacko. who playing 81 minutes of the Elland Road encounter before making way for Dallas, for a return to something approaching his best form.

Sacko joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Sporting Lisbon last summer and has been a mainstay of the team fighting for promotion.

The 22-year-old has started 27 of Leeds’ 38 Championship encounters, and 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying four assists.

Leeds’ win over Brighton kept alive their hopes of automatic promotion, although they remain eight points adrift of the second-placed side with eight matches of the campaign remaining.
