'Don't do us over' - Fans react as Leeds reportedly offer mainstay new deal
By Danny Wright
Leeds fans have been left delighted after it was reported that Chris Wood had been offered the chance to extend his Elland Road stay by three years.
Sky Sports News reported on their official Twitter account on Friday that the Whites had entered fresh talks in the hope that Wood, 25, would pen a new deal to keep him at the club until 2022.
The striker’s current deal is set to expire in 2019 and it seems that Leeds have moved to try and secure him for the future in light of recent bids from the Premier League.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay claimed on his personal Twitter account earlier this week that Burnley had two bids rejected Leeds as they looked to snap up Wood.
The New Zealand international is undoubtedly the most valuable member of Thomas Christiansen’s squad and it’s likely that they will be eager to keep hold of him as soon as possible.

He was mainstay in Garry Monk’s squad last term when he netted 30 goals in all competitions, and has continued to prove pivotal under the new regime this term.
Understandably, fans were happy with the news that was reported by Sky Sports, but now it is up for Wood to decide on whether or not he wants to agree the deal or show that he wants to move to the top-flight.
New contract offer to Wood. So different from the days of Bates and Cellino who would have cashed in. #lufc
