Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to rage at owner Andrea Radrizzani after he complained that Wolves have an “unfair” and “not legal” advantage over the other Championship clubs.

Goals from Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Benik Afobe secured a 3-0 win for the Midlands giants at Elland Road on Wednesday night and restored their six-point advantage at the top of the table, leaving Leeds with just one win in 13 matches in all competitions.

Following the full-time whistle, Radrizzani , who completed his takeover of Leeds last May, questioned Wolves’ movements in the transfer market through their use of ‘super-agent’ Jorge Mendes to help them spend heavily on recruiting talent such as Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves in a bid to win promotion.

The Italian tycoon tweeted: “We have our own problems but we should play in a fair competition.”

He claimed there were “evident benefits” of super agent Jorge Mendes having links at Wolves, whose manager Nuno is among his clients, with Radrizzani suggesting they included “top European clubs giving players with options to buy”.

Radrizzani added: “Congratulations to the best team but hope the league can be fair and equal to all 24 teams.”

Radrizzani’s Twitter blasts at Wolves might have been written to curry sympathy from supporters at his team fighting an uneven battle against better resourced rivals.

But it did not wash with a section of angry Leeds supporters, who panned the signings made over the last two windows since his takeover and urged him to concentrate on his own side rather than moan about others.
