Young goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell sent Leeds fans a message on Monday and they poured onto Twitter to praise him for his recent performances.
Fans had been calling for Paul Heckingbottom to start him for weeks, after a string of bad performances from Felix Wiedwald.
He finally relented last week when he put Peacock-Farrell in goal for the visit of league leaders Wolves.
He wasn’t overawed by the occasion and although he let three goals in, he put in a fine display himself.
That was enough to keep him the gloves for the trip to Reading on Saturday and by all accounts he was one of the best Leeds players on the pitch and was partly responsible for the valuable point in the 2-2 draw.
Since then Heckingbottom has made his decision going forward, saying, “The shirt is his… as it stands.”
Following this, Peacock-Farrell posted a picture of himself playing for the first team with a strong-arm emoji – and fans absolutely loved it.
