'Get rid', 'Shocking' - Leeds fans tear into senior player for display v QPR

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to blast Gaetano Berardi for his performance in the 3-1 win against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

Senior player Berardi, 28, was once again picked to start at left-back and it was clear that the naturally right-sided player struggling in the Whites’ visit to the capital.

United fans pointed out the one-time Switzerland international as the weak-link in the side and one fan even urged the Championship club to “get rid” of the full-back.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Berardi has made 14 appearances across all competition for Leeds this season but has not once started in his preferred position on the right-hand side of defence due to Luke Ayling’s stranglehold on the position.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is on the only traditional left-back in the Leeds squad but it seems that Whites manager Thomas Christiansen has no confidence in the Manchester United loanee, who has barely played this season.

It is no doubt an area that Christiansen and director of football Victor Orta must try to bolster in the January transfer window, although the Elland Road boss has recently suggested that he is already happy with the squad he has on his hands.

Next up for Leeds is is a home clash against Norwich next week.

In other Leeds United news, there has been a major development after the Whites made a formal approach for this European enforcer.
