Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to tear into Vurnon Anita for his performance in the 1-0 defeat to Ipswich at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.
Anita, 28, was drafted in to play at left-back due to injuries and fans were not impressed with what they saw from the former Newcastle player.
Gaetano Berardi has spent most of the season at left-back but has been moved to right-back to fill the void left by Luke Ayling, who is out for the rest of the campaign with injury.
Laurens De Bock was snapped up from Club Brugges earlier this week to add a left-back to Thomas Christiansen’s squad, but the game against Ipswich came too soon for the Belgian flyer, who had to sit on and watch Anita put in a poor shift in his position.
One angry Leeds fan even claimed that Anita looked like a “practical joke” with his performance.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Totally agree Lyndsey totally agree. He's not quick enough or good enough in my books him & Anita subs bench for me week in week out. We need strength and speed in midfield and defence.

Anita isn’t really a footballer is he? Like it’s a practical joke? We should’ve realised when we saw he’s built like a 13 year old girl. #LUFC

Anita has been a fringe player for most of the season for Leeds, making just the odd appearance due to injuries and to rotate the squad in cup fixtures.
He has made just 16 appearances across all competitions since signing on a free transfer in the summer after he was released by Newcastle.
His start against Ipswich was just his second in the Championship since October.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are second-favourites to sign this Premier League-winning forward.
