Leeds United fans took to Twitter to tear into Caleb Ekuban for his performance in their team’s 2-2 Championship draw against Reading on Saturday.

The Ghanian-born attacker was restored to the United starting XI as manager Paul Heckingbottom made changes to the side that were demolished 3-0 at home by Wolves in midweek.

Ekuban, 23, was handed the centre-forward role in place of Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who dropped down to the substitute’s bench.

The 2017 summer signing did not get on the scoresheet as he played 77 minutes of the fixture at the Madejski Stadium before making way for Lasogga.

Goals from Pontus Jansson and Pablo Hernandez helped United share the spoils at Reading as they failed to secure what would have been only their second win since Boxing Day.

Leeds fans were massively unimpressed by the contribution of Ekuban, who has scored only one goal for the club since arriving from Italy last summer.
