Leeds fans urge Monk to start 25-year-old attacker against Preston

By Will Butcher

Leeds fans have called on Garry Monk to start Souleymane Doukara against Preston on Saturday at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old has failed to start in Leeds’ last four outings, with his last inclusion in Monk’s starting eleven coming in the 1-1 draw against Fulham last month.

In those four games, the Yorkshire giants have picked up just four points after successive losses to Reading and Brentford which has seen fans call on a fresh reshuffle in attack.

That could see French attacker Doukara come in to Monk’s starting eleven, after scoring one of his five 2016-17 strikes against Preston in the reverse fixture at Deepdale.

Leeds’ number 11 found the back of the net in a convincing 4-1 away win, that also saw Pablo Hernandez, Hadi Sacko and Kemar Roofe get their names on the score sheet.

Doukara has had a hand in nine goals during his 34 league and cup appearances this season, scoring five times and providing another four assists.
