Leeds first team star named among most exciting talents in Europe - report
Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has been named as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe, as detailed in a study report.
The International Centre for Sports Studies’ (CIES) Football Observatory, a research group, have carried out a study exploring the experience and results of players under the age of 20-years-old over the past two years, to determine who were the hottest prospects in the top 22 leagues across Europe.
Topping the list was AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 18-year-old having established himself as a first choice star with the Serie A giants, while he also has four caps for Italy under his belt.
In England, Everton’s Tom Davies and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon both broke the top 10, the English pair both being named as two of the ten five star talents.
However Leeds fans were handed an exciting bit of news lower down the table, with 19-year-old midfield star Vieira being named at number 20 on the list, ahead of the likes of recognisable names such as Martin Odegaard (28th), Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah (32nd) Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (41st)
Vieira, who broke through the youth ranks at Elland Road, has established himself as a regular among the first team, be it in the starting XI or on the substitutes’ bench, and already has 60 senior appearances to his name, 21 of those coming during the current season.
In other Leeds United news, Pierre Michel Lasogga has delivered a bold verdict on the trio of returning stars.
