Leeds is the perfect club for dazzling talents after latest deal agreed - Whelan
Noel Whelan insists Illan Meslier’s new contract will encourage Leeds youngsters and senior players to keep improving.
The former Whites hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider reacted as the Frenchman agreed fresh terms.
On 13th August, it was announced Meslier had signed a new 5-year deal at Elland Road.
He is now contracted to Leeds until 2026.
Last season, the Frenchman enjoyed an outstanding debut Premier League campaign as he kept 11 clean sheets.
Whelan insists this is an example of why joining Leeds is such an attractive prospect.

“Leeds are going places, that’s the biggest thing I can say,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“The right people are in right from the top, everyone is in the right place and has the right character.
“It is literally a family, from top to bottom. It doesn’t matter if you are a steward or work in the cafeteria, this is a club that looks after every single person.
“This shows the club is being run the right way, there is a clear path to becoming a first-team player.
“That’s why so many youngsters from Premier league clubs are joining Leeds.
“They know they will be given the chance to develop and break into that side and they will be rewarded if they do.
“As a player, you know you will be rewarded if you perform. The senior players know that.
“This is a really special club to be at.”
