Leeds jet representatives out for triple Euro top flight transfer mission - insider
Leeds United jetted out scouts for a trio of games in France over the last week as they continue to search out future talent, according to an insider.
Twitter account Scouts in Attendance, who have established themselves as a reliable source of inside information on transfer and whose scouts are at which matches, claim that the Whites had representatives at Bordeaux’s defeat and Toulouse’s win in the French top flight over the weekend, as well as the cup match between both the sides on Tuesday.
#lufc scout watched Bordeaux 0-3 Strasbourg on Fri, Toulouse 2-0 Caen on Sat and Toulouse v Bordeaux in CDL on Tues, fair to say watching someone from Bordeaux or Toulouse, or both!

While there is no hint given as to who the club might have been keeping eyes on during their triple header, it indicates a change of tack from recent transfer missions, with a strong focus on the German market.
Toulouse do have Andy Delort on their books, with Sky Sports claiming that the Whites were interested in his signing before he moved to Wigan in 2014, while they also have former Leeds winger Max Gradel, on loan from Bournemouth.
Football Insider verdict
Leeds will be doing their utmost to secure the best players available for a reasonable price in both January and the summer, and as so many sides have proven in recent years, France can be a great source of affordable talent. While they will have their priorities in place moving forward, and transfer targets identified, there is always the opportunity for a scout to have their eye caught by one of the other 21 players on the pitch, and you have to have someone in the right place at the right time to spot the special talents. Whether Leeds have a specific man in mind remains to be seen, but they are doing the right thing by taking in as many matches as possible when possible.
