Leeds make new move to sign Manuel Benson – O’Rourke
Leeds United have registered their interest in Burnley winger Manuel Benson in a fresh swoop, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke confirmed that Leeds are monitoring the 27-year-old once again.
The Whites had attempted to sign Benson during the January transfer window but didn’t get a deal over the line, but Daniel Farke’s side are set to revisit the deal now.
Leeds are in the market for a winger before the 31st August cut-off after losing Crysencio Summerville to West Ham earlier this summer.
They are now looking to replace those creative stars and see Benson as someone who could fulfil that.
Leeds want Manuel Benson’s attacking qualities
Benson thrived when Burnley won the Championship in 2022-23, scoring 11 goals in 33 matches.
However, he struggled for game time last season in the Premier League and only made eight appearances throughout the campaign.
The winger’s contract with the Clarets runs until 2027, which puts the club in a strong negotiating position.

The Whites have the money available due to the number of sales they have made throughout the summer.
