Leeds must re-sign dazzling flyer with eye-catching top-flight record, deal expires in weeks
Leeds United’s campaign has been over for a long time but hopefully director of football Victor Orta has started to make plans for next season and has his sights set on re-signing Alfonso Pedraza in the upcoming transfer window.
Pedraza, 22, joined Leeds on a short-term loan in the second-half of last season and managed to impress fans to the point that they were gutted when they couldn’t sign him on a permanent basis.
This season, the dazzling Villarreal flyer was sent out on loan to La Liga club Alaves, where he has been in great form and has even been deployed as a left-back in some of his performances.
The tricky Spanish wide-man has made 35 appearances in all competitions this term for the bottom-half club, and has an eye-catching record in attack having scored four goals and supplied six assists.
Pedraza also impressed while playing as a left-back against Barcelona, limiting the Spanish top-flight giants to a 2-0 win as he kept Aleix Vidal quiet to the point that he was hooked before the hour mark.

Orta has already shown that he is willing to use his links in Spain to welcome players to Elland Road and Pedraza should be towards the top of his shopping list for the coming months, especially as the winger’s loan deal at Alaves is due to expire within a matter of weeks, meaning he could be available once more.
In other Leeds United news, fans may not see this £12,500-a-week Whites player again after the defeat to Norwich.
