Leeds senior player details contract update that fans will love after Twitter outcry

Leeds United attacker Pablo Hernandez has confirmed that he wants a new contract to extend his stay at Elland Road into at least the 2018/19 season – but he is yet to receive an offer from the club.
Hernandez’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign, but the Spanish winger is in brilliant form at the moment and there’s no doubt that Paul Heckingbottom would want to keep hold of the senior player.
He has worn the captain’s armband in three of the last four Championship fixtures while Liam Cooper has been suspended and also played a huge role in the 2-2 draw with Bristol City on Sunday.
However as it stands, the 32-year-old is due to leave Elland Road in just several months’ time.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of the trip to Pride Park to play Derby on Wednesday, Hernandez made it clear that he wants to be handed a new contract, but as of yet, Leeds are yet to enter talks with him.
When asked about his contract, he was quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account as saying: “I don’t know. I don’t receive anything new from the club. I can’t tell you anything about this, I prefer to focus on the next games.”
Hernandez was then asked if he wants to play for the Yorkshire giants next season.
“Yes. obviously. I’m very happy here. It doesn’t depend only on me,” he added.

Hernandez has been key in the Leeds first-team this season.
The former Swansea and Valencia attacker has made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and supplying eight assists in the process.
He ran the show against Bristol City on Sunday, prompting an outcry from Leeds fans on Twitter for the club to hand the player a new contract.
There’s absolutely no doubt that the supporters will love the fact that Hernandez wants to commit his future to Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, this summer signing has confirmed that he has jetted out to the Middle East.
