Leeds’ star man Pontus Jansson has expressed his desire to re-join his boyhood club Malmo before the end of his career.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks at the European club, having also played for Italian outfit Torino.
At this moment in time, Jansson is on loan from the Serie A side, but he is set to make his move from the Italian club to Leeds permanent in the summer.
The highly popular centre-back has built up a huge following at Elland Road as the supporters will be heartbroken by his comments.
“Moving back to Sweden also includes playing in Malmo FF again,” Jansson told fotbollskanalen. “That’s what I want anyway.

“We’ll see if Dan [Malmo Sporting Directoer] has a place for me. I actually write to Danne sometimes, that he may keep a place for me.”
Despite only being at the club for less than 12 months, Jansson is arguably the most popular player amongst supporters.
His passionate celebrations, no-nonsense tackling, has won him plaudits throughout the club where he is hoping to help them earn promotion to the Premier League.
At this moment in time, the Sweden international has helped his team to fifth in the Championship table where they are five points ahead of seventh-placed Fulham.
Jansson has formed a brilliant partnership with former Premier League player, Kyle Bartley at the heart of the club’s defence, with the duo key pieces to Garry Monk’s promotion jigsaw.
The Whites, who recorded a 3-0 win over Preston at the weekend, will be looking to build on those three points when they take on second-placed Newcastle at St James’ Park this Friday.
