Leeds taking big risk by 'selling' Bamford to 'direct rivals' Tottenham - Campbell
Kevin Campbell insists Tottenham are now a direct rival to Leeds United after a report on Patrick Bamford’s future.
The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted with the striker reportedly in line for a new contract.
The Telegraph reported on 15 August that Leeds want to tie Bamford down to a new contract to ward off interest from Tottenham.
As per the Athletic in May, Bamford’s current deal runs until 2023 after he signed a one-year extension in secret last summer.
Last season, Bamford scored 17 goals and picked up seven assists in the Premier League.
He also featured in every league game for the Whites as they finished in the top half of the league.

Campbell claims the striker has already outplayed his current Leeds deal and is more than deserving of new terms.
“Bamford has outplayed his contract,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He was brilliant in the Premier League last season. He was the main man.
“When Bamford wasn’t scoring, Leed weren’t scoring, which shows how vital he is to them.
“He deserves that new contract, you simply can’t get rid of your main guy by selling him to Tottenham.
“Especially if Spurs want him, those clubs are direct rivals now.
“It’s a good move from Leeds.”
Bamford failed to score last weekend as Manchester United put five past Illan Meslier in the Leeds net.
He has another chance to open his account for the season against Everton this weekend.
