Leeds told £10m Longstaff offer likely to be accepted – sources
Leeds United and Everton have been told Newcastle will accept £10million offers for Sean Longstaff in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about the 27-year-old midfielder’s future at St James’ Park.
Longstaff is set to enter the final year of his contract in Eddie Howe’s side, with his long-term future now regarded as “definitely” away from Newcastle.
Football Insider revealed last month that Everton and Newcastle are keen to agree a fee for Longstaff in a deal which would suit all parties.
Leeds have now entered the race for his signature as Daniel Farke is planning to add Premier League experience to his squad following their promotion.
The midfielder’s future is up in the air as things stand with interested clubs now in an “open race” as the Magpies plan to raise funds from his departure as pure profit.

Sean Longstaff update emerges at Leeds after Newcastle claim
Football Insider revealed on 17 May that Newcastle are eyeing three major signings ahead of their return to the Champions League, with players set to leave to make space.
Longstaff has made 214 appearances for his boyhood club, but now looks set to move on as they attempt to rebuild ahead of next season.
O’Rourke explained that David Moyes “would love” to bring the midfielder to Merseyside, but Leeds’ interest has emerged ahead of a potential “bargain” £10million deal.
“His long-term future definitely looks like it is away from Newcastle,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s going into the final year of his contract at St James’ Park and has found himself well down the pecking order in Eddie Howe’s plans.
“Newcastle would be open to selling the homegrown player just to help raise funds.
“We know Everton have been long-term admirers of Longstaff and David Moyes would love to bring him in to that Everton side.
“Leeds, returning to the Premier League, will be looking to add some Premier League experience to their squad.
“So it’s an open race for Longstaff and it will depend on what the player fancies doing.
“If he wants to move to a more established Premier League club in Everton, or does he fancy the challenge of joining Leeds United?
“Going into the final year of his contract, he could be a bargain signing for around £10million.”

Alex Moreno ‘interested’ in Elland Road move
Alongside their potential move to sign Longstaff, Farke’s side are also keeping a close eye on the situation of Aston Villa left-back Alex Moreno.
Football Insider revealed on 14 June that Moreno is interested in joining Leeds as he eyes a move away from Villa Park following his return from loan.
Leeds are aiming to bring in a new left-back as they look set to lose Junior Firpo, and are considering a move to sign the Spaniard for a cut-price fee.
This comes after ex-Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds are working on signing Firpo’s replacement amid interest in Kostas Tsimikas.
