Leeds told to slash Crysencio Summerville price tag by £10m – Ex-CEO

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has urged Leeds United to accept a bid of “£25million plus add-ons” for star man Crysencio Summerville.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed a “bidding war” for the 22-year-old is unlikely, meaning the Whites will need to slash their asking price.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (23 July) that West Ham are only willing to pay £20million plus add-ons for Summerville following new Leeds talks.

Meanwhile, sources say Leeds are holding out for £35million+ for the Championship Player of the Season for 2023-24 – who ended the league campaign with 20 goals and nine assists.

Fulham and Newcastle have also registered an interest in Summerville but are yet to firm up their interest.

West Ham could secure £10m discount on Leeds star Summerville, says Wyness

Wyness told Leeds to meet in the middle with West Ham and “move on” for the remainder of the summer window.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “As I understand it, the numbers we’re talking about is around £25million.

“Look, he’s young – but he’s worth the chance for West Ham.

“Lopetegui may have some other options in mind that he sees as similar, but I think Summerville is worth a chance.

“He could really make it.

“£25million plus some add-ons, that could get the deal done.

“Leeds will be hoping for a bidding war, but it doesn’t look like it’s materialising.

“There’s no doubt he’s a talent, but I can’t see a big bidding war coming.

“I think they should take the money from West Ham and move on.”
