Leeds Under-23 star Jordan Stevens took to Twitter after another win for his side, against Cardiff City.
In an exuberant message, Stevens said it was a “class win”, that the team were “class” and that they want to get in the play-offs.
That message was echoed by coach Carlos Corberan after the 3-0 win, when he said, “We are happy with the result, this was a very important win as we can fight for the playoffs now that we are in third position.”
Stevens, who signed from League Two club Forest green on a free transfer in January, posted the message shortly after the game on Friday afternoon.
Football Insider verdict:
After picking up a lot of criticism earlier in the season, most notably from former player Ian Harte, it’s great to see the Under-23 side on a run like this. There’s a real sense that something is happening here, with people already talking about the first team for players such as Sam Dalby and Jack Clarke. Dalby scored as well today, Clarke set one up and it takes the youngsters into third place in the league. It was Stevens’ first start today after his move and he put in a fine display that could see him nail down a regular spot in Corberan’s side, before he tries to catch Paul Heckingbottom’s eye next season.
