Leeds and Adidas 'delighted' with record-breaking deal - Kieran Maguire
Both Leeds United and Adidas are “delighted” at the progress of their partnership over the past 12 months.
That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively about the relationship between the sportswear giant and West Yorkshire club.
Leeds released their new training wear range on 30th June and their home kit for the 2021-22 campaign is expected to drop shortly.
Adidas and Leeds embarked on a five-year partnership last July in what the club described as a “record-breaking” deal.
Leeds lost £62million in their last set of annual results but did make £15m from merchandise sales despite the notable handicap of the pandemic.
Maguire lauded the relationship with Adidas and claimed that Leeds’ on-pitch achievements have been central to its success.

“Both parties are delighted,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Leeds had a superb season. Normally, when there’s a kit launch there is a peak and then a downside in terms of sales.
“But there were quite a few mini peaks over the course of the season because the results Leeds were generating were so good.
“Everybody gets the home kit when it comes out and then the away kit became very popular at Christmas.
“That’s just one of the commercial benefits of having a successful side.“
Leeds finished 9th last term in their first season in the top-flight since 2004.
They begin their 2021-22 campaign away to fierce rivals Man United on 14th August.
