Leeds United could be heading for ‘huge blow’ after updates on Raphinha and 26-year-old – Phillips
Kevin Phillips has claimed it would be “a huge blow” to Leeds United if Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips left in the summer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner suggested the Whites would be in trouble even if they secured “big transfer fees” for the duo.
A West Ham source told this site (21 March) that they are lining up a fresh move for Phillips, 26, and are prepared to offer him an “enormous” salary.

The centre-midfielder’s contract at Elland Road is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
According to Fabrizio Romano (25 March), Barcelona are in advanced talks with Raphinha’s agent over a potential summer switch.
When asked how the departure of both players would effect Leeds United, Phillips told Football Insider:
“It would be a huge blow, even if they get big transfer fees for both. I’m not going to deny that. If I was a Leeds fan I would be a bit concerned.
“Of course, if they were to go down then it would be pretty clear that they would move on. I think they will be fine though.

“If they are in the Premier League next year they need their best players and those two are two of the best. They are so influential. If they were to lose them it would be a huge blow.
“From the players’ point of view, I think Raphinha would like to challenge himself at a top team. Phillips could slot into any team but he of course has ties to the club.”
