Leeds United employee shares Wilfried Gnonto prediction after what he's just seen
Noel Whelan has claimed Jesse Marsch won’t shy away from handing Wilfried Gnonto his full Leeds United debut after his fruitful cameo during the win over Liverpool last week (29 October).
The former Whites striker and club ambassador, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 18-year-old won’t struggle on the big stage after his experience with Italy’s senior side.
Gnonto marked his Premier League debut by playing a key role in Crysencio Summerville’s winner at Anfield.
The forward netted 12 goals and notched 10 assists in 74 games for FC Zurich before joining Leeds United in the summer window for £4million.
He is yet to start for the Whites but could get his chance in League Cup action against Wolves next week (9 November).
Whelan hailed the Italian for his “reaction” to sitting on the bench since coming to England.

When asked if Marsch would continue to shy away from handing Gnonto his full debut, he told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I don’t think he will.
“We’ve seen him trust young players with Summerville and Sam Greenwood starting in the past.
“He’s an international player for Italy. If he can play on that big stage for Italy, there’s no reason he can’t play regularly in the Premier League.
“His play for the goal really impressed me, that cheeky header over the defender that sets him up.
“Everyone played their part in the goal.
“When he comes on, you want to see a reaction that shows everyone he’s ready after sitting on the bench. He certainly did that.”
