Kieran Maguire: Leeds fans will 'love' Radrizzani social media fury at 'inexplicable' incident

Leeds United fans will be delighted that Andre Radrizzani is fighting their corner on social media.

So says finance expert Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the owner’s recent spree of indignant tweets,

Radrizzani tweeted twice on 15 September to call the FA’s decision not to rescind Pascal Struijk’s red against Liverpool “unfair” and “inexplicable“.

Struijk was sent off for a challenge which resulted in Harvey Elliot dislocating his ankle, though many believed it was not a red card offence.

Radrizzani is famed for transparency and told Sky Sports on 12 September about his plans to see European football at an expanded Elland Road.

And Leeds supporters will be grateful to see that the owner is fully engaged with the club, insists Maguire.

“It provides a link between the board and the fans,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“The fans appreciate it. It allows fans to have immediacy in terms of aligning the owner’s views with theirs.

“You can see why Leeds fans will love this. This is basically the antithesis of what we’ve seen at Newcastle and Man United

“It allows the relationship between owner and fanbase to grow. and blossom.

“It helps that Radrizzani has a lot credit in the bank for helping them get to the top half of the Premier League last season.”

Leeds remain winless in the Premier League in 2021-22 after their 1-1 draw with Newcastle last night (17 September).

They face Fulham in the League Cup on 21 September before matches against West Ham and Watford take them up to the international break.
