Pundit salutes Leeds after 'loving' Radrizzani reveal you 'rarely see' in football

The tight-knit relationship between Andrea Radrizzani and Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United is something you “almost never see” in football.

That is the view of ex-Whites goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the bond between owner and manager.

Leeds’ victory over Norwich City on 31 October was just their second of the campaign and they are in 17th place heading into game week 11.

But Radrizzani, who appointed Bielsa 12 months after his takeover in 2017, is fully behind the legendary Argentinian coach.

As quoted by The Athletic on 2 November, he revealed: “I knew it was going to be a challenge but we support him and his ideas unconditionally.”

The sports media tycoon went on to talk up Leeds’ chances of a top-six finish in 2022-23 if they avoid relegation this season.

Kenny hailed the owner for his unqualified support of the manager even in the face of adversity.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “It is a bit of a loving word, ‘unconditionally’.

“He’s done so well over the past couple of seasons, they’ve been absolutely flying. But this season, they’ve only won two out of 10. It’s not ideal.

“Everyone needs a bit of support when things aren’t going the way you want them to. So I like this from the owner.

“There is clearly a good relationship going there. You almost never see that between an owner and a manager these days.”
