Leeds United told to sign Patrick Bamford ally amid £60m claim - pundit
Alan Hutton has insisted Leeds United will need to replace Raphinha if he leaves this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs right back said that Jesse March’s side are ‘crying out’ for a striker.
According to The Athletic (21 June), Arsenal have made a bid for Raphinha although it has fallen below the Whites’ asking price.
The Gunners are said to be firm admirers of the Brazil international.
Raphinha has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road.
When asked if Leeds would need to replace Raphinha with another big-money signing, Hutton told Football Insider: “They need to replace him.

“The problem is, if you get £60 million, to replace somebody of that quality is going to cost a lot of money.
“Leeds are crying out for a striker who is going to lighten the load on [Patrick] Bamford. Who’s going to score 20 plus goals? Of course that’s difficult, it’s never easy.
“Then you’ve also got question marks over the likes of Kalvin Phillips. Is he going to leave?
“So yes there’s money coming in but it will have to be spread among the side to bulk out the squad depending on who goes.
“But the problem is, you’re talking about the top players here and to sell them, it’s going to cost a lot of money to replace them unless you’ve got a really good recruitment team behind you.
“It’s not always easy to find that rough diamond and I think there’s a number of positions where they need to strengthen.”
