‘Leeds’s Timothy Weah deal faces collapse after Nottingham Forest twist’
Leeds United are prepared to pull the plug on their interest in signing Juventus star Timothy Weah after having second thoughts about the deal.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Leeds are not convinced the 25-year-old would be a difference-maker for them.
Meanwhile, new concerns have emerged about the player’s wage demands after Nottingham Forest could not reach an agreement.
Leeds had emerged alongside Everton and Bournemouth as possible alternatives following his decision to snub Forest, as they continue to plan for a busy transfer window.
This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds are set to back Daniel Farke with a large budget to reinforce his side for Premier League football.
However, they are set to turn their attentions towards other key targets rather than attempting to convince Weah of the move to Elland Road.

Leeds United make Timothy Weah decision after Forest claim
After turning down the move to Nottingham Forest, Weah’s agent confirmed he is prepared to fight for a place at Juventus and wasn’t convinced by Forest’s offer.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that while Leeds may be interested, they are unlikely to make a move as things stand.
“I’m not expecting Leeds to sign Weah,” he told Football Insider.
“I don’t doubt he’s somebody they’ve looked at and they will have done their homework on him.
“It’s difficult for Leeds to go and recruit top-quality Premier League players, but they’re targeting people who they feel can make a real difference.
“From what I hear, I don’t think they’re convinced he can be that player.
“They have to be careful in the market and make sure whoever they get is going to be an upgrade.
“There are doubts about whether Weah is significantly better than what they’ve got.
“His move to Forest fell through for whatever reason, and they might try to spin it in a certain way, but his wage demands are likely to be an issue.
“He’ll be getting a fair bit at Juventus and if he’s going to a Forest or Leeds, he’ll want an increase.
“For the type of player he is, I don’t think Leeds will pay him a huge figure.
“They will be looking at a number of players in his position and I think at the moment they’re more likely to go after one of those.”

Douglas Luiz update emerges at Elland Road
Weah is not the only Juventus star to be linked with the switch the Elland Road this summer, amid speculation surrounding the future of Douglas Luiz.
Brown told Football Insider on 26 June that Leeds have expressed an interest in signing Luiz as the Italian giants are keen to move him on.
The Brazil international’s agent has been offering him to a number of Premier League clubs and has been in frequent talks about his future
Luiz left Aston Villa to join Juventus less than a year ago but is already eyeing a return to England after a disappointing season in Turin.
