Leicester expected 4-4-2 v Porto: Star duo axed

By Emma Sanders

Leicester are expected to make a few changes for their Champions League clash against Porto after already securing qualification to the knock-out stages.

The Foxes have a crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City on Saturday so they should rest some regular first team stars for Wednesday’s European tie.

Star men Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are expected to be left out of the starting XI, to make way for Shinji Okazaki and Ahmed Musa.

Okazaki scored Leicester’s only goal during another disappointing defeat against Sunderland on Saturday so could be handed a start in place of Vardy up front.

He should line up alongside Islam Slimani, while Musa is likely to line up on the right, opposite Marc Albrighton who should retain his position on the left wing.

Danny Drinkwater may be back for the clash but Andy King is expected retain his place in midfield alongside Daniel Amartey.

Luis Hernandez could be handed a start at right-back in place of Danny Simpson but Wes Morgan and Robert Huth cannot afford to be replaced at centre-back.

Christian Fuchs and Ron-Robert Zieler should also keep their places in the side.

Leicester have had a disappointing start to the Premier League campaign so Claudio Raneiri’s attention will be on their clash against City next weekend.
