Leicester fans furious at what club has stewards now doing at King Power: ‘It’s absolute nonsense’
Leicester City fans have quickly grown frustrated with events both on and off the pitch this season.
The Foxes were only relegated from the Premier League last season, but they have found themselves struggling to find consistency following their return to the Championship.
Leicester recently sacked Marti Cifuentes just months after his arrival in the summer, and the team are now languishing in 16th in the second tier, with the possibility of a points deduction also looming on the horizon.
Andy King has taken interim charge of the team until a permanent successor to Cifuentes can be appointed, but he didn’t find things any easier than the previous boss on Saturday.

Leicester fans rage at safe standing scrutiny
Leicester were beaten 2-0 at home by Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon, as it proved to be yet another difficult afternoon at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes have now lost back-to-back home games in recent weeks, with both defeats coming against sides who currently sit below them in the Championship table.
It is now four games without a win in the league for the East Midlands outfit, and their fanbase have begun to lose patience with almost every aspect of the club of late.
Footage was shared on X on Saturday afternoon of stewards checking Leicester fans’ tickets as they tried to enter the safe standing zone at the King Power, which served as a further check after the initial entry at the turnstiles.
Fans have been left fuming by the instructions from their club, with one supporter labelling it as “absolute nonsense,” while others questioned the purpose behind the move.
Another supported branded the check as “mental,” while it was also pointed out that empty seats have become commonplace in the area in recent weeks.
- @pauline_ormston: “You can’t get in turnstiles if you don’t have a ticket. So why check once you’re in?”
- @PooleCarl69: “It’s pathetic as there’s empty seats everywhere.”
- @Phil_1965: “They actually have security to stop people leaving at half-time.”
Foxes fans to fume even more at potential appointment
Russell Martin is now the favourite for the Leicester job in the aftermath of Cifuetes’ dismissal, and that has the potential to be an appointment that angers the fans even further.
The 40-year-old’s reputation among supporters is on the floor after his possession-heavy style left Southampton rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, and his exploits at Rangers earlier this season have only worsened that.
Martin was sacked by the Glasgow giants after just 17 games in charge of the team, as his tactical stubbornness and confidence in his own methods were quickly interpreted as arrogance by the Rangers fans.
He has been a success in the Championship earlier in his managerial career, but the last thing that Leicester fans will want at the moment is a divisive character to come in at the helm.
