Leigh Griffiths fires back at Rangers on Twitter after defeat against Celtic

By Harvey Byrne

Leigh Griffiths fired back at Rangers fans on Twitter after they took to mock the Scotland international on social media.

The 26-year-old striker was left on the bench as Celtic beat the Gers 2-1 at Ibrox on Saturday with goals from Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair cancelling out a Kenny Miller strike.

Rangers supporters were keen to vent their anger after the game and targeted the Hoops forward, who is very active on social media.

However, Griffiths replied in kind and took great delight in celebrating on his personal Twitter account that Celtic were top of the league with a 19 point gap.

The Hoops have all but confirmed their sixth consecutive Premiership title with the win, as they still hold a game in hand over the second placed Gers.

The Scottish giants are also unbeaten after 20 matches and they will now be keen to recharge their batteries in the break before seeing out the second half of the campaign unbeaten.

The Hoops’ next clash will see them take on Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup on January 22nd.

They will then take on St. Johnstone at Celtic Park three days later, who are sat in fifth.

In other Rangers news, Stan Collymore posted this message to Gers fans after the Saturday defeat.
