Levi Colwill makes Chelsea confession in new message after being ‘bailed out’

Levi Colwill has issued a message to Chelsea fans following his individual mistake during their win against West Ham United on Monday (3 February).

The Blues came from behind to rescue three points following a second-half goal from Pedro Neto and an own goal by Aaron Wan-Bissaka after he deflected a Cole Palmer strike.

The victory was Chelsea’s second in their previous eight Premier League matches, in what has been their toughest run of the season.

However, the win against the Hammers led to Enzo Maresca’s side moving back into the top four ahead of Man City and Newcastle.

The Blues now sit just four points behind Nottingham Forest in the Premier League as they continue to push for a return to the Champions league next season.

Chelsea are now preparing for consecutive games against Brighton, first on Saturday (8 February) in the FA Cup and then on Friday (14 February) in the Premier League.

It was a game to forget for Colwill as he gave the ball away in the first half with a stray pass that went directly to Jarrod Bowen.

The returning England international latched onto the ball and slotted it into the back of the net to give West Ham the lead, which led to Colwill sending fans a message on Instagram.

He said, “Terrible mistake from me today but I’ll bounce back stronger and that’s why u need top players to bail you out. Massive points tonight, let’s go blues.”

The 21-year-old has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season for Chelsea, establishing himself as a key member of Maresca’s squad.

The England international is under contract until 2029 at Stamford Bridge.
