Lewis Hall: Newcastle to reject bids as Chelsea join race to agree ‘huge’ deal
Newcastle United plan to reject any bids for Lewis Hall ahead of the summer window despite interest from a number of elite clubs including Chelsea.
The left-back left Stamford Bridge to move to St James’ Park in 2024 but could be tempted to return as they eye potential improvements to their defensive line.
Since making the switch, he has made 94 appearances under Eddie Howe and established himself as a key part of their plans for the future.
As a result, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle will not entertain offers for Hall and hope to keep hold of him.
This comes ahead of what could be a busy transfer window for Newcastle, with multiple stars being linked with moves away if they miss out on European qualification.

Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Newcastle are planning to sign a left-back, but any arrival will play backup to Hall rather than being a replacement.
The former Chelsea youth player has also attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool and Man City, but is not currently expected to leave St James’ Park.
“Newcastle are making efforts to keep Lewis Hall,” Brown told Football Insider.
“If their aim is to be one of the biggest clubs in the country, competing in the Premier League and in Europe, they have to keep hold of their best players.
“They will be looking to build their team around players like Hall.
“He’s been brilliant this season and deserved a lot of credit for the work he has done, he’s come through a couple of injuries and got back to the top level.
“Now he’s in contention to be part of the England squad, a lot of that is down to how he’s played under Eddie Howe, so it would make sense to continue with that.

“I don’t think Newcastle will entertain offers for him unless something huge comes up, but even then, he’s such an important player for them.
“Whether it’s Chelsea being spoken about or any other team, I don’t think there’s a way Newcastle let him go this summer.”
Who else could be tempted away from Newcastle this summer?
Hall is not the only player being linked with a move away from Newcastle this summer, with a number of big names potentially on their way out.
Howe’s side are currently ninth in the Premier League table and at risk of missing out on European qualification, which could see players look to move on.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last month that Man City could move for Tino Livramento as they look to finally act on their long-standing interest.

Livramento has been heavily linked to City over the last two windows, and the time may finally come for him to move to the Etihad Stadium ahead of next season.
The England right-back has established himself as one of the best Premier League players in his position at St James’ Park, and is hugely admired by Pep Guardiola.
