Lewis Hall: Transfer expert shares Newcastle price tag verdict as mass exodus looms
Lewis Hall is attracting high-profile interest in a move away from Newcastle United this summer despite their reluctance to let him go.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a crucial part of Eddie Howe’s long-term plans in recent weeks and the boss has no plans to let him leave.
Meanwhile, he has also put himself in a strong position to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup, which will see his value increase again.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider it would take a “huge” fee to lure Hall away from Newcastle and a move this summer is unlikely.
The likes of Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been listed among the left-back’s admirers, but he will not be let go easily as Newcastle step up their own transfer plans.

Brown told Football Insider last month that Chelsea are watching Hall closely, despite having allowed him to leave Stamford Bridge for Newcastle in 2024.
A number of the Premier League’s top clubs are now keeping a close eye on his situation in case he is allowed to leave Newcastle given their difficult league season.

However, Newcastle have no plans to lose their star players this summer, and Howe is keen to keep Hall as part of his ambitious plans for the future.
“A player like Lewis Hall is always going to attract interest,” Brown told Football Insider.
“From Newcastle’s point of view, they’ve got no plans to let him go any time soon. He’s become such an important part of the way they play.
“He’s not been there for long and he’s had his injury issues, so they haven’t seen the best of him yet, and that should be exciting for them.
“But of course, there’s going to be interest from the top clubs as there always is.
“It won’t be cheap, especially if he goes to the World Cup with England, because if he does well there then his price tag is only going to get higher.
“Eddie Howe wants to keep him and build around him, especially if he’s going to be losing other players, because they can’t afford to let too many people go.
“I would be very surprised if he left Newcastle, I think it’s the best place for him at the moment and they’re going to want to keep him.”
Newcastle fearing other major departures
Hall is not the only big-name player being linked with a move away from St James’ Park this summer, as the Magpies are at risk of some major departures.
Brown told Football Insider on 3 April that Newcastle are fearing a mass exodus of stars if they fail to qualify for European competitions this season.

Alongside Hall, the likes of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes have all been linked with moves away amid interest from Premier League rivals.
Howe’s side are currently sitting 12th in the league, with an eighth-placed finish likely to be needed to achieve European qualification this season.
That has led to suggestions that multiple key players could be tempted away by better-placed clubs in what could prove a difficult window for Newcastle.
