Lineker makes stunning claim about Tottenham 24-year-old after Borussia Dortmund win
By Derek Smithson
Gary Lineker has heaped big praise on Tottenham forward Harry Kane and made the stunning claim that he has reminded him of Premier League legend Alan Shearer during the past few years.
The 24-year-old was on red-hot form on Wednesday night as he helped Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League group stages.
The North London club picked up their first home win of the season at Wembley and their striker played a vital role.
Kane scored a goal in each half for the hosts and has now netted four times in his last two matches.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were without the suspended Dele Alli for the European fixture against the Bundesliga giants, but Kane stood up to play a key role.

Lineker raved about the England international after the Dortmund win and even compared him to all-time Premier League great Shearer.
The pundit made the stunning claim of comparing Kane to the best goalscorer in Premier League history, highlighting several similar traits between them.
“He reminds me a little of Alan Shearer,” Lineker told BT Sport, as cited by Youtube channel Only Foot. “Not that quick but a strong, big, powerful [centre-forward], good touch without being phenomenal, can dribble a little bit and can score from everywhere.
Kane has developed into a brilliant all-round player sine his breakthrough into the Spurs senior team and is now considered a vital component in their starting line-up.
The forward has drawn comparison with Shearer in the past as people have speculated he could be the only current player to break his goalscoring record.
Shearer is the leading goalscorer in Premier League history with 260 goals and his closest rival is Wayne Rooney on 200.
Kane has already notched up 80 league goals during his career and may have one eye on surpassing Shearer’s record in the future.
