Rangers boss Graeme Murty has revealed that he thought new boys Jamie Murphy and Sean Goss fared well in their first appearances in a Light Blue jersey,
Both players played 45 minutes in the Florida Cup match against Aletico Minerio, which a much-changed Gers side won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Josh Windass.
Murphy played on the left-wing and Goss played in a defensive midfield role and Murty is already impressed with what he seen of both players in their brief spell at Ibrox so far, and he thinks that once the duo have spent more time at the club they will prove to be invaluable to the side.
“I thought Sean and Jamie both added to the squad and showed little glimpses of what they are about” he said, as quoted by Rangers’ official website.
“Hopefully with a little bit more work and a little bit more integration they could be really positive for the second half of the season.”
Goss has joined on-loan from QPR until the end of the season, whilst Murphy joined his boyhood club from Brighton, and although the transfer is initially a loan it will be confirmed as permanent at the end of the season.
The Gers complete their Florida Cup schedule with a match against Corinthians on Saturday, where Goss and Murphy may well get more game time.
Rangers then return to domestic action as they take on non-league Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup on the 21st of January.
