Liverpool backed to sanction £15m Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain exit after source’s reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could leave Liverpool for £15million in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker is surprised Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t made it in to Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
On 29 September, sources told this site that the Reds are planning to offload the 29-year-old when his contract expires next summer.
The midfielder has slipped down the pecking order at Anfield and is currently sidelined with an injury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to feature in a competitive game for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
The Reds valued their player at £25million last year and are unlikely to let him leave in January.
McAvennie suggested the price for Oxlade-Chamberlain will not have dropped drastically despite his lack of game time.
“I think he’s a good player,” he told Football Insider.

“They’ll get £15million for him that’s for sure. He’s not getting a game anyway. It’s strange how such a good talent is not even getting in. I would’ve thought he’d be in before [James] Milner and [Jordan] Henderson because he’s younger and he’s got that pace and energy.
“Something’s not right. He’s a wonderful player and if he wants to move then he needs to go because your career just goes all of a sudden. You need to play every week. I don’t get how people can just sit there and not mind not playing at the weekend, it would drive me nuts. He’s a talent I really do like him, he’d be a good player at West Ham.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Premier League talks could cause ‘huge problem’ for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
