Liverpool braced for £150m Mohamed Salah bid – sources
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s bidding this summer will start at £100million and could go up to £150m, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 31-year-old is wanted as the Saudi Pro League’s next marquee signing.
He believes the figure would not reach the £200million-mark, but added that money is no issue for Saudi Arabian clubs.
Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is already playing in the country, but Saudi see Salah as the perfect poster boy for the major league.
Liverpool star to go for at least £100m this summer
O’Rourke told Football Insider that such a stance will benefit Liverpool if they decide to cash in on the attacker, because they could then demand a higher fee.
The Anfield club were offered £150million from Saudi for the winger last summer, with a similar figure expected this time around.
Sources have told Football Insider that the Reds will be more open to a deal now due to his contract situation and with a new manager coming to Anfield, with a huge bid from Saudi Arabia expected.
If a big-money deal is carried out, Jurgen Klopp’s successor – which is set to be Arne Slot – can use some of the money to strengthen his squad.
O’Rourke added that despite a recent dip in form from Salah, fans of the Merseyside club will not want to lose the key player, just as they didn’t last summer.

But the club have not seen the best from their star man following his injury during the latest Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January, with the overall poor form of the team another reason behind his struggles on the pitch.
