Liverpool fans have slammed Jeremie Frimpong for his contribution in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Reds’ Champions League hopes suffered another massive blow as a Danny Welbeck brace proved to be enough to overcome the visitors at the AMEX Stadium.

Despite a positive performance from the likes of Milos Kerkez, many underperformed, which led to yet another Premier League defeat.

One of the worst offenders was Frimpong, who struggled to lock down the right side of the pitch at full-back.

As a result, supporters have been quick to criticise his defensive abilities in another terrible Liverpool defeat.

Slot has struggled to find a role for Frimpong since his summer move, with the 25-year-old playing as both a winger and a full-back so far this campaign.

Against Brighton, he was used in the latter role, and was run ragged throughout as he struggled to keep Brighton’s attack at bay.

Frimpong simply could not handle the Seagull’s Yankuba Minteh, which eventually resulted in the Liverpool star being subbed off just after the hour mark in another poor performance, something that is becoming scarily common.

Liverpool fans were quick to notice how poor the Netherlands international was, and took to X to slam the performance.

Will the summer transfer business get Arne Slot sacked?

Football Insider previously revealed that Slot will be sacked if Liverpool don’t get Champions League football.

Now, this looks more realistic than ever, with the Reds’ constant defeats allowing clubs like Brentford and possibly even Brighton join the race for the competition.

This would have been unthinkable in the summer when Liverpool spent millions on top players, with these transfers clearly not working out to date.

Liverpool outrun in 26 of their 30 Premier League games this season.

Frimpong is just one example, with Slot seemingly not knowing what position is best for the Dutch international, with him previously playing as a wing-back at Bayer Leverkusen.

As a result, the summer business could easily get Slot sacked, with the manager clearly targeting the wrong players for the system he wants to play.

However, only time will tell if he is able to turn this around, or if Liverpool will be looking for another manager in the near future.
