Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has been ruled out for the rest of the season and could also miss the World Cup in Russia this summer, according to a report.
The Mirror made the shocking revelation on the German ace who is according to the source, struggling with a back injury.
And that led to fears amongst supporters of the club that it could mean the 24-year-old has played his last game for the club.
But there were also fans who sensed that the player’s injury concerns were a conspiracy and that his disappearance from the first-team was similar to the way in which Philippe Coutinho left the club for Barcelona in January.
Despite the Mirror’s claims, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo urged fans to ignore the media outlet via his official Twitter feed:

Can has been continually linked with a summer switch to Serie A champions, Juventus, after failing to extend his contract at Anfield and will be a free agent in only a matter of weeks.
The German international hasn’t featured for the Reds in either of the last two games with Henderson stepping into the defensive midfield role instead.
Here is a selection of Twitter reactions to the news that Can could have played his final game for the club:
Ew, that Midfield makes me sick

Sad way to leave Liverpool if true.

Bet he has signed for City the absolute snake.. Will recover miraculously after City if he wants… ???? @LFC .. I believe Klopp knew it. See Klopp's comments downplaying his injury before international break. Saying he'll be ok for Germany. Lol. Coutinho mark II.

Just coincidental the timing after the whole interview about wanting to join a bigger team, faking injuries perhaps? Sounds like Coutinho’s situation way way too much
