Liverpool fans react on Twitter as 19-year-old could make debut v Plymouth

Harry Wilson could make his Liverpool debut on Wednesday night – and the club’s supporters were delighted at the prospect on Twitter.

The Echo claim that the 19-year-old is in contention to make his first senior appearance for the Reds in the FA Cup third-round replay against Plymouth.

The young winger was left out the club’s Under-23s side on Monday night against Manchester United and has been called up to Melwood to train with the first-team.

He has been in good form for the Under-23s this campaign, scoring 19 goals and supplying nine assists so far.

Liverpool fans expressed their delight that Wilson could be handed his debut after impressing in the youth set-up.

The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has been to integrate youth players into the first-team this season and fielded a youthful side in the recent 0-0 draw with Plymouth.

He is expected to do the same as he rests senior players in the cup, meaning the likes of Ovie Ejaria, Ben Woodburn, Sheyi Ojo and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all expected to start.

Wilson looks like the latest youngster to get the promotion to the first-team and will hope to impress if he features against Plymouth.

The Welshman is currently the captain of the Under-23s and is tipped as one of the best emerging stars at Anfield.
