Sky Sports pundit makes shock prediction for Liverpool v Plymouth
By Dominic Toner
Charlie Nicholas has predicted Liverpool to suffer a shock defeat to Plymouth on Wednesday in the FA Cup third-round replay.
The Merseyside club were held to a 0-0 draw at Anfield by the League Two opposition recently and will now face a replay at Home Park.
Jurgen Klopp fielded a youthful starting line-up in the first meeting and is likely to do the same again as he rests senior players for their title run-in.
The Reds will still start the game as strong favourites and their top-flight quality is expected to shine through.
However, Sky Sports pundit Nicholas believes that Plymouth can cause a huge cup upset and capitalise on a weakened Liverpool team.

“I honestly do think Plymouth can cause an upset here,” Nicholas said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “They were in good form at the weekend, putting four past a Stevenage side which have been fairly handy on the road this season.
“I think Klopp will make loads of changes again to his tired-looking side. Liverpool are in need of a rest and I think he’ll prioritise the Capital One Cup and play a similar side to the one which failed to get the job done at home.”
Nicholas has tipped a 2-1 scoreline to the hosts on Wednesday and predicted the cup to throw up another surprise.
Klopp may be keen to play some of his fringe players against Plymouth, with important matches against Swansea, Southampton and Chelsea still to play in January.
They were unable to break down a stubborn Plymouth defence in the previous meeting and were involved in a well-fought encounter.
The League Two side are in great league form in their respective division and are currently second in the table.
Derek Adams’ team have lost just one of their previous nine games across all competitions and will be quietly confident going into the tie.
