Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana is reportedly on the verge of agreeing a new £150,000-a-week contract at Anfield – and the club’s supporters are divided on Twitter as to whether he deserves the huge pay packet.

The Telegraph claim that the 28-year-old is currently in negotiations with the Merseyside club and is set to pen a deal shortly.

The report details that the central midfielder is set to sign a four year deal, which will keep him at the club until 2021.

Lallana is set to become the club’s joint highest-paid player after Philippe Coutinho recently agreed a new £150,000-a-week deal.

Liverpool fans have voiced their contrasting opinions on whether the England international merits a new £150,000-a-week deal.

Lallana has been an important player for Liverpool since he joined the club in 2014 from Southampton.

The attack-minded midfielder is currently enjoying his best season with the club and has been in great form in front of goal.

He has scored seven times and supplied seven assists in just 26 games across all competitions this campaign.

Lallana has increasingly become a crucial player for Klopp and has managed to fit into the German manager’s philosophy.
