Daniel Sturridge was named on the bench for Liverpool on Tuesday – and the club’s supporters were disappointed with the decision on Twitter.
The Reds host Stoke in the Premier League and manager Jurgen Klopp has named an unchanged XI from the team that beat Merseyside rivals 1-0 in their last game.
Sturridge was used as a late substitute in that match and is expected to play a bit-part role once again against Stoke.
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order this season at Anfield and young striker Divock Origi is currently ahead of him in Klopp’s plans.
Liverpool fans expressed their anger that Sturridge was once again snubbed by Klopp on Tuesday.

Good team. Disappointed not to see Sturridge start but hopefully he'll come on and make an impact second half 👊 https://t.co/bRX4L00b1D

Coutinho out. Firmino out on bail. Still Daniel Sturridge can't get into this @LFC team! What does he have to do? #LIVSTO

Sturridge has made just 12 appearances this season across all competitions and completed 90 minutes on just one occasion.
The striker is failing to impress manager Klopp on the training ground and he has played a small role in the club’s success this campaign.
He has not scored a single Premier League goal this season and has contributed just two assists.
Sturridge has scored four goals in two EFL Cup appearances, but he will be desperate to make a bigger impact in the Premier League.
The forward has shown during his time with the Merseyside club that he is a prolific in front of goal, scoring 58 goals in 104 appearances.
In other Liverpool team news, the club’s supporters chose on Twitter which striker they wanted to start against Stoke.
