Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has already agreed to move to Juventus this summer, that is at least according to former Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino.
The ex-Serie A man was commenting on Juventus’ comings and goings and was quoted by Italian media publication Calcio Mercato as saying: “Juve will only sign Florenzi if he plays in the midfield. He is not a full-back, but is a converted one.”
“But there are others in the role who are better than him. Can, for me, is a done deal and will come in.”
It’s been known for some time the German was unlikely to stay at Anfield past the summer after failing to agree to extend his terms with the Merseyside outfit and whose contract expires this summer.
But after hearing the news today, there are sections of Reds supporters who now want the 24-year-old dropped – and no longer given the captain’s armband.
Can has been integral to all that the club have achieved this season, and had been linked with moves to both Manchester City and Real Madrid.
But it seems that the Turin club are the apparent destination following these latest comments – no official news has arrived from Liverpool though.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly want to keep anything potentially unsettling to the squad out of the limelight given they are on the brink of making the next stage of the Champions League and won’t want to upset that.
The German international has been part of a front three that has set the Premier League alight this season and will need to be replaced with a top quality arrival.
