Liverpool fans should not be worried about whether or not Divock Origi leaves the club this summer with the player’s contract due to come to an end in a little over a year’s time.
The forward has spent the season on loan in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg but is due to return to Anfield in June.
Five goals from 28 appearances for the German outfit isn’t good enough to convince Jurgen Klopp, let alone the Liverpool fans, he is worthy of another deal at the club.
In 2016/17, Origi notched up 11 goals in all competitions but apart from registering against Everton, the forward has only managed to get his name on the scoresheet against the league’s lower placed sides.
And with the German club in turmoil after Martin Schmidt was given his marching orders, following a run of form that saw the club plummet mercilessly towards the relegation zone, it would seem that the impact of Origi has had little in the way of a positive effect.
It’s no surprise then to hear that there are sections of the Reds faithful who don’t want to see the Belgian handed an improved deal at the club, with many stating that the forward is not good enough for the club.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see him go and Klopp really ought to seek out offers for the player this summer.
